Job Location

This position is based onsite in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect laboratory specimens, accurately entering data into reporting systems and documenting any incidents.
  • Handle consumable materials by receiving, recording, cleaning, and assembling kit components.
  • Follow established procedures for specimen handling and maintain thorough records of patient test results.
  • Adhere to quality control policies to ensure laboratory standards are met.
  • Assemble and disassemble kit trays and materials as required to support laboratory operations.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and organized sample reception area for optimal functionality.
  • Identify and resolve issues that could negatively impact test performance, documenting corrective actions taken.
  • Provide assistance and support to Laboratory Technologists as needed.
  • Manage documentation and oversee outsourcing related to the sample reception area.
  • Provide administrative backing to the laboratory team, including proofreading company documentation before data entry.
  • Enter and update client information accurately using proper software systems.
  • Register and manage any non-conformities related to the pre-analytical processes.
  • Support handling physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds as necessary.
  • Perform any other duties assigned to support laboratory functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An associate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year’s experience in a similar laboratory reception role is advantageous.
