Facilities Manager

Position Overview

The Facilities Manager will oversee comprehensive technical operations, hard services, HVAC systems, and overall building maintenance for designated locations. This role demands expert engineering knowledge and proactive maintenance planning to guarantee continuous operational excellence while ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Primary Duties

• Manage daily functions of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and building automation systems.
• Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs along with initiatives to enhance equipment reliability.
• Perform technical diagnostics and root cause investigations, implementing sustainable engineering fixes.
• Ensure operations comply with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) guidelines, industry regulations, and legal mandates.
• Evaluate technical method statements and risk assessments; issue necessary permits for work.
• Supervise building infrastructure and utilities to maintain operational efficiency, including environmental controls and safety standards.
• Support workplace operations like fit-outs, space planning, and managing asset lifecycles.
• Monitor vendor and contractor performances against service-level agreements and key performance indicators, fostering improvements and maintaining thorough documentation.
• Enforce environmental health and safety protocols, conducting regular safety inspections, audits, drills, and maintaining relevant compliance certificates.
• Serve as the main liaison for client site teams, providing timely technical reports and updates.
• Collaborate with regional and national facility management teams to promote operational enhancements.
• Assist in budgeting processes, capital expenditure planning, and cost optimization; maintain asset and inventory records ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications & Expertise

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
• At least five years of experience in technical building operations, hard services, HVAC, or M&E functions.
• Experience managing multiple sites or commercial/technical facilities is an advantage.
• Proven leadership skills in managing technical teams and third-party vendors.
• Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC, M&E, building management systems, fire protection, preventive maintenance, and engineering problem-solving.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Robust analytical and problem-resolution aptitude with the ability to work autonomously in dynamic environments.
