Job description

Position Overview

Pacific Health Group is seeking a Business Solutions Analyst to collaborate closely with supervisors and managers in addressing operational and business challenges by leveraging technology. This role focuses on understanding workflow dynamics and designing practical, technology-driven tools that enhance team efficiency and simplify tasks. Rather than simply resolving IT tickets, the analyst partners directly with department leaders to identify pain points and build customized or configured solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with supervisors and managers to grasp their objectives, processes, and daily challenges, translating these into technology-based solutions.
  • Analyze root causes of recurring issues and develop effective solutions—either custom tools, improved processes, or tailored off-the-shelf options.
  • Create no-code and prebuilt tools such as spreadsheets, dashboards, forms, trackers, and templates to address specific problems.
  • Innovate using creative approaches, evaluating existing low-cost or ready-made solutions before deciding to build from scratch, with emphasis on ease of adoption and maintenance.
  • Streamline tasks by automating repetitive work and integrating existing software such as Google Workspace and Microsoft 365.
  • Configure and deploy solutions on authorized platforms ensuring security, reliability, and user-friendliness.
  • Provide training and guidance to supervisors and managers to enable confident use and upkeep of solutions.
  • Collect user requirements, deliver working prototypes quickly, and iteratively improve solutions based on feedback.
  • Document solutions thoroughly for replication and sharing across departments.
  • Collaborate with senior IT personnel, system administrators, and vendors for larger or complex projects, escalating when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, data privacy, and IT security standards to protect sensitive health information.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in IT, computer science, business, or related discipline; or equivalent education and relevant experience.
  • At least one year of practical experience developing tech solutions, analyzing business needs, or supporting operational teams (including internships or relevant coursework).
  • Hands-on skills with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365, especially in building and managing Google Sheets or Excel spreadsheets with formulas and dashboards, and creating forms and templates.
  • Proven ability to interpret business problems and design user-friendly, effective technology solutions.
  • Creative and resourceful mindset, adept at leveraging both innovative and prebuilt tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to bridge communication between IT and non-technical management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication for explaining technical concepts clearly.
  • Competence in managing multiple assignments, prioritizing tasks, and delivering results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing dashboards, trackers, or reporting tools that assist leadership in monitoring goals and metrics.
  • Knowledge of no-code/low-code platforms and automation tools such as Google Apps Script, Power Automate, or Zapier, and integrating common applications.
  • Background in healthcare or regulated environments with understanding of HIPAA and Protected Health Information handling.
  • Exposure to Electronic Health Record systems like Epic, Cerner, athenahealth, and ability to extract operational data for reporting.
  • Industry certifications like Google Workspace Administrator or Microsoft 365 Fundamentals.

Skills & Competencies

  • Focus on delivering solutions that resolve the true needs behind requests.
  • Creativity and resourcefulness in developing or configuring fitting technology tools.
  • Partnership and trust-building with supervisory staff, treating their challenges as personal.
  • Analytical skills to dissect workflows and organize data effectively.
  • Clear communication linking business needs with technical implementations.
  • Commitment to follow-through and continuous improvement until full adoption.
  • Integrity and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive health data.

Reporting Structure

The Business Solutions Analyst reports to the IT Manager and works collaboratively with senior IT staff, system administrators, and leaders across departments. This role does not include managerial responsibilities.
