Business Development Officer

About the Role

The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) is inviting applications for the position of Business Development Officer under salary grade ZRA05. This role supports the Business Development Manager in enhancing the ZRA Training Centre's growth by identifying and managing opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and expanding client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Business Development Manager in recognizing and implementing new business opportunities to generate revenue for ZRA Training Centres.
• Source new client leads and maintain a robust database through networking, personal selling, events, digital marketing, and referrals.
• Create and manage monthly social media content calendars to boost engagement on digital platforms.
• Develop content for the Training Centre's website to promote its offerings.
• Foster relationships with organizations and influencers to widen the Authority’s reach.
• Oversee key client relationships to ensure high satisfaction and client retention.
• Build and maintain a network of industry contacts, including professional bodies and associations.
• Engage with relevant sectors and industries to leverage the Training Centre’s capabilities.
• Collaborate with academic institutions and cross-functional teams such as Finance and Corporate Communications to meet targets and execute business development plans.
• Maintain accurate records of all business development initiatives.
• Pursue continuous personal development to remain effective in the higher education sector.
• Conduct market research and analysis, including client profiling and identifying promising business opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all organizational policies and contribute to staff development and training efforts.

Minimum Qualifications

• Grade Twelve School Certificate or General Certificate of Education Equivalent with at least five credits including Mathematics and English.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or Economics.
• Additional digital marketing qualification or experience is advantageous.
• At least three years of relevant post-qualification experience in a similar capacity.
• Experience in the Hotel Industry or Training Centres is considered a plus.
• Active membership in the Zambia Institute of Marketing or a similar professional body.
