Position Overview

The role involves a full-time bus driver responsible for transporting Rottnest Express guests within the Perth Metropolitan area to and from ferry terminals and operating the Discovery Tour bus on Rottnest Island. This position demands outstanding customer service skills and a friendly, professional approach.

Primary duties

  • Operate buses following scheduled routes and timetables safely.
  • Transport guests between accommodations, ferry terminals, and tourist sites.
  • Conduct guided Discovery Bus Tours around Rottnest Island.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service, including greeting and assisting passengers.
  • Provide accurate information about services and ferry operations.
  • Assist with baggage loading/unloading and facilitate boarding processes.
  • Collect tickets and maintain boarding efficiency.
  • Log necessary reports, incident records, and communicate vehicle issues.
  • Ensure cleanliness, refuel vehicles as needed, and uphold safety standards.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience driving buses, preferably in tourism or related sectors.
  • Hold a valid Passenger Transport Driver (PTD) license and a minimum Medium Rigid (MR) license.
  • Maintain a clean driving record without recent violations.
  • Familiarity with Perth CBD and surrounding metropolitan region is highly beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and anticipate challenges such as adverse traffic or weather.
  • Possess a personable, professional demeanor with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and reliability.
  • Able to assist passengers requiring help with mobility or luggage.
