Position Summary
The Associate on the Business Development team assists in promoting distributed energy initiatives targeted at industrial and commercial clients. Collaborating closely with experienced sales staff, this role involves helping with customer engagement, maintaining CRM systems, developing sales materials, and supporting lead generation strategies to identify new business prospects.

A division called trucurrent focuses on on-site distributed energy solutions for Fortune 500 and enterprise clients, offering microgrid infrastructure and tailored energy solutions for commercial and industrial applications, data centers, EV charging, and behind-the-meter storage.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior sales team members by creating customer presentations, proposals, and internal documentation that push forward commercial sales opportunities.
- Engage in introductory calls with customers and partners to capture needs and coordinate follow-up tasks.
- Handle administrative duties tied to customer interactions such as managing NDAs, gathering client information, and coordinating request fulfillment.
- Oversee company CRM (HubSpot) operations to ensure precise pipeline tracking, data integrity, and reporting dashboards for sales and leadership teams.
- Help maintain CRM updates, manage sales opportunities, and document key information throughout the sales lifecycle.
- Partner with marketing to drive lead generation efforts including campaign development, content creation, webinars, and outreach programs.
- Conduct research on potential customers, markets, and competitors, delivering concise summaries and actionable insights to the sales group.
- Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, engineering, and development teams to ensure all sales assets correctly reflect project features and client value.
- Manage multiple projects and shifting priorities effectively, ensuring high accuracy and professionalism under tight deadlines.
Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Energy Management, Economics, or related discipline.
- Between 6 months to 2.5 years of experience in sales, business development, marketing, consultancy, or renewable energy sectors, including internships; preference given to renewable energy exposure.
- Strong communication skills, able to produce polished and clear presentations and customer-facing documents.
- Excellent organizational capabilities, detail-oriented with ability to juggle multiple tasks.
- Analytical skills to gather, synthesize data and make strategic recommendations.
- Competence with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience using CRM software such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or equivalents preferred.
- Keen to learn technical subjects related to renewable energy technologies like battery energy storage systems and distributed energy resources.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working in dynamic, collaborative environments with little supervision.
- Availability to travel up to 30% for client meetings, conferences, and industry events.
