Role Summary
Reporting to the Store Manager, this position plays a key leadership role in day-to-day store execution. The Assistant Store Manager helps run operations, supports team engagement, and contributes to a high-performance culture that delivers excellent customer service and supports store growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach and encourage the store team in a positive, energetic environment while staying active on the sales floor.
- Ensure customers receive a consistently strong shopping experience with service standards kept front and center.
- Track key performance indicators, spot improvement opportunities, and suggest actions that help the store meet its goals.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, succession planning, and performance-related processes.
- Oversee inventory, compliance, and day-to-day procedures with strong organization, time management, and multitasking.
- Support visual merchandising and product presentation so the store environment remains attractive and sales-focused.
- Respond quickly to changing situations and contribute practical solutions that improve performance.
- Promote teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement while setting the tone through example and dress code compliance.
- Help plan floor coverage, organize daily priorities, and delegate tasks to keep operations running smoothly.
- Support omnichannel activities that help maximize sales and create a seamless customer journey.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience supervising or managing a team in retail or another customer-facing setting.
- Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service and motivate others to do the same.
- Strong planning, organization, and prioritization abilities.
- Comfort working under pressure while maintaining quality and performance.
- Demonstrated leadership in guiding a team toward business objectives.
- Ability to contribute to strong sales results.
- Skilled at handling several tasks at once in a fast-moving environment.
- Interest in fashion, with a good eye for style and awareness of current trends.
- Working knowledge of POS, ERP, ATS, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical capability to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs (18 kg), and use a step ladder up to 3 m (10 feet).
- High school diploma required.
Additional Information
The posted salary range is $42,000 to $50,000, with potential for a higher rate depending on relevant experience.
