Role Summary

The Access Coordinator will oversee the smooth execution of all scaffolding and rope access tasks on the South32 Worsley maintenance contract site. This role surpasses conventional coordination duties, requiring an adept operational leader familiar with maintenance operations, client demands, workforce management, and contract performance metrics. Acting as the deputy to the Site Superintendent, this position ensures leadership presence during absences, proactively manages operational risks, promotes task execution, maintains robust client relations, and encourages continuous contract improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily scaffold and rope access operations in line with contract goals.
Prioritize activities based on client needs and operational risk assessments.
Plan and allocate resources effectively to fulfill work orders.
Track work progress and intervene when necessary to keep schedules on track.
Coordinate emergent and repair tasks without disturbing planned maintenance.
Ensure availability of workforce, equipment, and materials for operational demands.
Review forthcoming work schedules and identify gaps in labor or skills.
Serve as main operational liaison with client representatives.
Develop strong partnerships with planners, supervisors, and operational staff.
Participate in planning meetings providing operational insight.
Communicate schedule modifications, limitations, and risks in a timely manner.
Maintain professional representation of the company.
Provide daily leadership and mentorship to supervisors and frontline teams.
Coach supervisors on execution, planning, and effective communication.
Promote workforce accountability and engagement.
Champion a safety-first culture driving performance excellence.
Lead operational meetings when necessary.
Enforce compliance with client and company protocols.
Engage in incident investigations and conduct onsite leadership engagement.
Validate the quality of scaffolding and rope access services delivered.
Ensure corrective actions are followed through to resolution.

Candidate Profile

Legal eligibility to work in Australia.
A minimum of five years’ experience in access-related work or closely related fields.
Proven ability to coordinate diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
Demonstrated leadership skills in operational settings.
Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
Previous experience in client-facing planning, maintenance, or operations roles.
Knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling best practices.
Commercial insight into maintenance contractual arrangements.
Comprehensive understanding of scaffolding and/or rope access methods and services.
