Operations Director

About The Role

The Recruitment Junction, a leading UK charity dedicated to helping individuals with convictions secure lasting employment, is expanding nationally with bases in the North East and a new hub launching soon in Preston. As an Operations Director reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee operational activities across multiple venues including Newcastle, Durham, and Preston, providing strategic leadership during this exciting phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and guide Site Managers at different locations, ensuring strong performance and high-quality service delivery.
• Drive teams to achieve employment targets, employer engagement goals, and key operational outcomes.
• Lead the launch and expansion of new sites, supporting scalable growth across regions.
• Develop and sustain robust relationships with employers, partners, and stakeholders to enhance service impact.
• Utilize data analytics, performance metrics, and CRM tools to foster continuous operational improvements.
• Coach and inspire teams to cultivate a high-performing, values-driven organizational culture.
• Collaborate with the CEO and Senior Leadership to implement growth strategies and meet broader objectives.
• Identify and implement opportunities to optimize efficiency and service scalability.
• Represent the charity externally as its ambassador, promoting its mission and social impact.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, quality, and regulatory standards across all operations.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in operational leadership across multiple sites, including managing geographically split teams.
• Strong commercial acumen combined with skills in business development and growth management.
• Demonstrated success in performance management and delivering operational targets.
• Skilled in forging strategic partnerships and driving organizational opportunities.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
• Experience employing KPIs and management reporting to boost team and organizational performance.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to challenges and solution-building.

Work Location and Travel

This role is mainly office and site-based, with responsibilities spanning Newcastle, Durham, and Preston. Regular travel between the North East and North West regions is expected, including occasional overnight stays.
