Role Overview
This hands-on Workshop Assistant position is perfect for those with a mechanical mindset and a willingness to learn. You will play an essential role in providing operational and logistical support throughout the workshop and across diverse industries.
Main Responsibilities
- Consistently deliver first-rate customer service to all business units
- Monitor, order, and manage workshop supplies and consumables
- Handle inwards goods and efficiently organize stock orders
- Prepare and paint gearboxes according to specifications
- Help maintain inventory accuracy and participate in regular stocktakes
- Conduct quality checks on inbound and outbound projects
- Pack and dispatch goods safely and accurately
- Uphold the condition of workshop tools and equipment
- Operate forklifts to load and unload trucks
- Take active measures to foster a safe work environment, following OSH and company safety policies
Key Requirements
- Lift items weighing up to 20kg—must be physically fit
- Hold a valid New Zealand driver’s licence
- Possess or be willing to obtain a forklift operator qualification (training provided if required)
- Clear understanding of health and safety standards within industrial settings
- Demonstrate independence, self-motivation, and resourcefulness in daily tasks
- Display a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
