About the Role
Join Sodexo at West Virginia State University as a Utility Worker, contributing to the efficiency and cleanliness of the food production and service areas. This role involves supporting kitchen and facility operations to ensure a sanitary and organized environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually wash dishes or operate dishwashing machines.
- Clean and sanitize work surfaces, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain cleanliness of floors.
- Dispose of trash and garbage in designated areas.
- Sanitize equipment using appropriate chemicals.
- Restock essential supplies including soap, paper towels, and cleaning products.
- Engage in significant walking and mobility tasks.
- Stand or walk for extended periods during shifts potentially exceeding eight hours.
- Perform physical tasks such as reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting items up to 35 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Be punctual and maintain consistent attendance for scheduled shifts.
- Fulfill additional duties as required, which may vary by client needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- No prior work experience is required.
- Basic understanding of sanitation practices and food safety principles.
Employment Details
- Work schedules include variable shifts with preferred open availability.
- Employment offered on a full-time or part-time basis.
- Hourly wages range from $12 to $14.
