Unix SQL Autosys Production Support Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Unix SQL Autosys Production Support Engineer to join our team in Kolkata. This role involves supporting production environments, ensuring stability, and working closely with application and development teams to resolve issues.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to application teams for code deployment and address production issues.
• Troubleshoot incidents by determining root causes, resolving problems, and preparing detailed executive summaries for management.
• Collaborate with product vendors and technical specialists to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Apply fixes, patches, and service packs as necessary to maintain application stability through preventive maintenance and monitoring.
• Offer technical expertise and support to development teams, ensuring adherence to best design and implementation practices.
• Manage job scheduling and automation using Autosys and monitor system health with tools such as ITRS.
• Resolve job-related errors, user access problems, and application configuration issues effectively.
• Work with Oracle Database including tasks related to restorations, backups, and performance tuning to ensure optimal operation.
• Develop, deploy, and manage Autosys Job Information Language (JIL) scripts for batch processing.
• Open to learning new technologies and developing automation systems.

Qualifications and Skills

• 4 to 12 years of experience in production support, specifically with Unix, SQL, and Autosys.
• Strong knowledge of Unix operating systems and Oracle databases.
• Experience in application support within production environments.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident resolution.
• Familiarity with Autosys scheduling and job management; experience with monitoring tools like ITRS is advantageous.
• Ability to support application deployments and perform preventive maintenance.
