Underground Paste Crew Member

Role Overview

As a valued member of the Underground Paste Crew, you will ensure the safe and effective installation, operation, and upkeep of subterranean paste reticulation systems to support mining activities.

Key Duties

• Install underground paste reticulation systems including pipe supports, couplings, and elbows.
• Fit underground dump valves, diverter valves, pressure sensors, and relevant instrumentation.
• Construct paste walls and bunds according to project requirements.
• Collaborate with surface plant and mining teams to coordinate work activities.
• Assist supervisors in planning and delivering paste infrastructure projects within scope and timelines.
• Maintain accurate daily records of activities, paste line operation, and maintenance needs.
• Adhere rigorously to safety protocols: identifying hazards, managing risks, and using proper personal protective equipment.
• Work in cooperation with other crews—services, projects, and production—to synchronize paste installations with mining schedules.

Candidate Profile

• At least 12 months experience working underground in paste and project environments is essential.
• Competent in using hand and power tools as well as underground plant related to paste reticulation.
• Mechanical aptitude with skills to diagnose and fix basic system faults.
• Strong safety consciousness and hazard awareness.
• Physically fit to work in confined spaces and demanding conditions underground.
• Effective communicator and team player.
• Flexible to perform a variety of tasks and adhere to changing schedules.
• Holds IT & UG LV Tickets and a current Manual Driver's Licence.
• Capable of passing pre-employment medical assessments including drug and alcohol tests.
