Toolroom Improver

About the Role

Located in Dudley within the West Midlands, this opportunity is with a well-established SME specializing in metal components manufacturing for various sectors. The company is looking for a Toolroom Improver to become part of their current team, focusing primarily on the upkeep and support of tooling for production lines and New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of new tooling solutions and make modifications to existing tools.
• Perform surface grinding operations while adhering to exacting tolerance requirements.
• Track and evaluate tool usage and efficiency throughout production processes.
• Fit, test, and adjust new tools specifically designed for press operations.
• Maintain, repair, and rebuild various types of production tools as necessary.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as vernier calipers and micrometers for quality assurance.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous hands-on experience working within a toolroom setting.
• Proven skills in servicing and repairing progression tooling.
• Knowledge or experience with CNC and EDM machining is considered a bonus.
• Ability to maintain work within tight tolerances is essential.
• Capable of interpreting and working from detailed engineering drawings.
