Storekeeper – Construction & Contracting

Job Overview

The Storekeeper will oversee management and control of all materials, tools, equipment, and inventory at the project store, ensuring smooth operations by effectively tracking receiving, storage, issuance, and overall inventory of construction materials.

Key Duties

• Inspect, receive, and document incoming construction materials, tools, and equipment from vendors.
• Maintain precise inventory records and strictly adhere to stock control protocols.
• Distribute materials to site teams based on authorized requests, keeping detailed records of all material movements.
• Track inventory levels and collaborate with procurement to ensure timely stock replenishment.
• Ensure proper storage conditions and handling of materials to prevent damage or loss.
• Keep documentation updated including GRNs, delivery notes, material requests, and inventory reports.
• Conduct periodic physical inventory counts and stock verifications.
• Liaise with project engineers, supervisors, procurement teams, and suppliers for material requirements.
• Manage storage facilities complying with HSE and site safety standards.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly store reports for project management review.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
• 3 to 8 years of experience as a Storekeeper in construction or contracting sectors.
• Experienced in handling construction materials, tools, MEP equipment, and inventory control procedures.
• Knowledgeable in material receiving, issuing, and stock management processes.
• Preferably worked on building, infrastructure, or MEP projects.
• Proficient with ERP systems and MS Excel for tracking inventory.
• Strong organizational capabilities and keen attention to detail.
• Effective coordination skills with site teams, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Previous experience in UAE construction projects is an advantage.

Preferred Background

• Experience with high-rise buildings, infrastructure, or large-scale contracting projects.
• Proven ability to handle project stores managing large volumes of materials.
• Understanding of construction documentation and material control practices.
