Overview
Seeking a meticulous Project Coordinator to assist with diverse IT projects based in Michigan. This long-term contract position is aimed at ensuring effective organization of project activities, alignment of stakeholders, and continuity of deliverables across end-user computing and infrastructure domains. The ideal candidate will combine strong coordination capabilities with sufficient technical understanding to liaise efficiently between business partners and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage coordination of timelines, tasks, and milestones across multiple ongoing IT projects to promote consistent progress and clear ownership.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation by tracking risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, and action items to ensure accuracy and currency.
- Organize and document outcomes of status meetings, including decisions and next steps, to keep teams aligned with priorities.
- Act as a central coordinator connecting technical personnel, business stakeholders, external vendors, and project sponsors.
- Monitor project deliverables and proactively flag scheduling obstacles or delays that could impact results.
- Prepare succinct project updates and communications to keep stakeholders informed on progress, priorities, and outstanding issues.
- Support project managers and technical leads daily by following up on tasks and helping to drive work towards completion.
- Ensure organization and maintenance of project files, documentation, and collaboration platforms.
- Assist with various IT initiatives including software deployments, licensing projects, OS upgrades, onboarding readiness, user adoption efforts, and infrastructure activities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Prior experience supporting IT projects in roles such as Project Coordinator, Project Administrator, or junior project manager.
- Basic understanding of project management concepts like scope management, scheduling, budgeting awareness, and risk/issue monitoring.
- Cognizance of working with both technical and business audiences while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent organizational aptitude with strong attention to detail and independent follow-through capability.
- Effective communication skills with confidence to facilitate discussions, document updates, and keep stakeholders well informed.
- Hands-on experience using Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Excel, and Office 365 within project contexts.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and familiarity with project tracking tools such as Microsoft Project, Project Server, or RAID logs.
- General knowledge of IT infrastructure, workplace technology, desktop support, or end-user computing concepts sufficient to manage related workstreams.
Additional Information
This role is a long-term temporary contract based in Troy, Michigan, requiring onsite presence. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
