About the Role
Join ABB in the Electrification business within the Distribution Solutions division located in Nashik, India. This role is integral to streamlining procurement and logistics activities to bolster business performance by ensuring adherence to ABB's standards and procedures. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be entrusted with implementing purchasing and logistics strategies that enhance cost efficiency, quality, and supplier reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute purchasing and logistics plans that align with business objectives and optimize supplier performance in cost, quality, and reliability.
- Formulate and apply strategic initiatives for local sourcing to fulfill business goals.
- Support the deployment of local sourcing strategies consistent with current and prospective business demands.
- Ensure strict adherence to procurement standards, tools, and processes covering quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability within your operational area.
- Participate in and conduct training sessions to promote compliance and facilitate professional growth.
Qualifications and Experience
- A full-time degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Between 2 to 4 years of relevant experience, primarily focused on import procurement (75%) and domestic procurement (25%) including customs clearance.
- Familiarity with sourcing engineering and manufacturing commodities such as Copper, Stainless Steel, Silver, Insulators, and Plastics.
- Proficient in Strategic Sourcing, Indirect Material Procurement, Vendor Management, Price Negotiation, and Material Planning.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, capable of effective coordination with suppliers and internal teams.
