Junior Procurement Specialist with German

About the Role

As a Junior Procurement Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing and ensuring compliance in purchasing and logistics activities to support our business operations. This hybrid position requires approximately 8 office days per month and reports directly to the SCM Service Delivery Manager. Your efforts help manage what powers the world.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete Purchase Requisition to Purchase Order (PR to PO) cycle within SAP, ensuring all procurement activities adhere to established standards and business needs.
• Track open purchase orders, maintain communication with suppliers, coordinate Goods Receipt processes, and facilitate timely invoice processing and payment resolutions.
• Monitor procurement processes and operational metrics, generate and uphold accurate reports following ABB's procedural standards.
• Maintain effective relationships and clear communication with suppliers, internal departments, and cross-functional teams, resolving procurement issues related to cost, quality, and delivery.
• Support supplier lifecycle management including registration, qualification, escalation handling, and addressing procurement-related queries at the first level.
• Implement changes related to purchasing and logistics within your scope, maintain SAP master data accuracy, and assist in upkeep of SAP and SAP Ariba systems.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proficiency in both business-level English and German (B2/C1 level).
• Strong expertise in operational procurement and supply chain processes, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, customer-oriented environment.
• Experience in operational procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management supporting end-to-end procurement and collaboration with stakeholders.
• Advanced knowledge of SAP; practical experience with SAP Ariba is highly advantageous.
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel for managing procurement data, reporting, and process tracking.
• A passion for customer service, coupled with innovative problem-solving skills and effective teamwork abilities.
