Netezza Database Administrator

Role Overview

This position involves managing and supporting IBM Netezza and Netezza Performance Server environments, ensuring optimal database functionality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee database backup, restoration, refresh, migration, and implementation of data patches.
• Address incidents, service requests, and change requests while adhering to established SLAs.
• Continuously monitor database health, appliance operational status, storage usage, and overall system performance metrics.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to performance degradation, inefficient queries, locking conflicts, and hardware/software appliance challenges.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as grooming data, generating statistics, vacuuming databases, and planning capacity requirements.
• Administer user management activities including account creation, privilege assignment, group management, password resets, and managing access controls.
• Liaise with IBM support and vendor teams to resolve issues concerning appliances, hardware components, and software systems.
• Implement and manage database deployments, migrations, and environment refresh processes.
• Engage in 24x7 support operations and participate in on-call duty rotations to ensure continuous service availability.

Eligibility

Applicants must have completed graduation.
