Role Overview

We seek an experienced Senior Performance Test Engineer to architect and implement performance testing methodologies for sophisticated software applications. This role requires expertise in load, stress, spike, capacity, and endurance testing to detect system bottlenecks and suggest improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to ascertain performance goals and translate these into measurable SLAs for testing.
• Devise performance testing strategies for software employing diverse architectures including client-server and microservices.
• Design and conduct various performance tests using tools such as JMeter, WebLoad, LoadNinja or equivalents.
• Perform performance evaluations on both server and client sides, including batch job verifications.
• Utilize Application Performance Monitoring tools like Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, or Datadog for monitoring.
• Execute performance and scalability assessments on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Integrate performance testing within CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab and Jenkins to automate execution during build releases.
• Develop complex test scenarios, analyzing extensive datasets through scripting languages including Python, Java, Groovy, and Shell scripting.
• Compile comprehensive performance reports and communicate findings with stakeholders.
• Participate actively in performance modeling, capacity planning, and scalability evaluations.
• Engage with stakeholders such as Product Owners, Architects, and Development Leads to gather and refine performance requirements and SLAs.
• Plan and provision test setups, including environments, data, and scripts, aligned with performance strategies.
• Identify bottlenecks across application, infrastructure, or database components through thorough analysis of test outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with development and DevOps teams to recommend and verify optimization efforts.
• Stay current with new tools, frameworks, and performance testing best practices to continuously enhance methodologies.
• Mentor junior testing engineers in best practices and tool usage.
• Ensure compliance with Information Security Management System (ISMS) policies and procedures.
