Role Overview

The Merchandise Planner will play an essential role in establishing processes for supporting growth in the European Union's digital and retail store channels across all product segments. Working collaboratively with leadership, this role involves delivering detailed sales and inventory analysis and providing strategic recommendations to international teams with the aim of enhancing sales and profitability for the client's global operations and franchise partners.

Key Responsibilities

Manage sales forecasting and inventory control for the EU digital channel.
Collaborate with the client's Global Digital (VSGD) team to interpret market trends and risks to meet business goals.
Analyze business performance metrics and trends to optimize assortment strategies, including product tiering and selection analysis.
Contribute insights to Monthly Planning Committee (MPC) meetings focused on inventory optimization across multiple distribution centers and operational models, based on merchandise and sales data.
Work closely with Merchants to coordinate assortment goals, product launch schedules, and markdown strategies.
Ensure accuracy of digital active dates and maintain data flow between international assortment tools and Digital Active Date (DAD) platforms.
Oversee the flow of international exclusive products through domestic product development processes, ensuring all product attributes are properly populated for EU digital platforms and franchise handoffs.
Build effective relationships with cross-functional teams, communicating clearly to establish trust and credibility.
Respond promptly to ad hoc requests from various teams.
Oversee inventory levels at the EU distribution center, coordinate ring-fencing across channels by tracking inbound goods and collaborating with planners, demand forecasters, and analysts.
Continuously monitor and adjust in-season inventory to reduce markdowns and meet end-of-season stock targets.
Align inventory expectations of VSGD with brand deployment strategies through ongoing education on inventory management processes.
Partner with Logistics and UPS to forecast volume requirements for the EU distribution center.

Candidate Profile

3 to 5 years of experience in analytical roles such as merchandise planning, inventory deployment, demand forecasting, finance, or logistics.
Strong technical capabilities in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Proven statistical and quantitative analysis skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and interact with various customer levels.
Excellent communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrates teamwork spirit and promotes collaboration among colleagues.
Experience working in international markets is advantageous.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is required.

Duration: 5 months temporary contract
Compensation: $35.00 per hour
