Role overview
This position is for an Investment Banking Associate within Nomura’s Investment Banking Division in Singapore. The role is licensed and sits in a global financial services organisation that operates across more than 30 countries and regions. Nomura’s business spans retail, wholesale (including global markets and investment banking), and investment management, with a long history dating back to 1925.
The investment banking team provides advisory and capital-raising support to clients, combining market knowledge with tailored solutions. Its work covers mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt capital markets, restructuring, and financing across a wide range of industries.
What you will do
- Work on both execution and client coverage activities, including valuation work, financial modelling, strategic analysis, due diligence, deal financing, and transaction process coordination.
- Carry out business and sector research to support client discussions and deal execution.
- Prepare marketing presentations, transaction materials, and other client-facing outputs.
- Handle additional tasks assigned by senior bankers as needed.
- Support the growth of junior bankers through coaching, training, and mentoring.
- Be based in Singapore, with possible travel to priority markets for origination and execution assignments.
What is expected
- At least 3 years of M&A experience in investment banking.
- At least 3 years of experience in Industrials and/or Infrastructure.
- Practical exposure to valuation, financial analysis, strategic analysis, due diligence, deal financing, and transaction management.
- Strong internal and external networking ability to deepen understanding of the GII team and the wider firm.
- Ability to build effective working relationships across the organisation.
- Excellent organisational and project management capabilities.
- Comfortable operating in lean, flat teams and managing relationships both upward and downward.
- Entrepreneurial approach with flexibility to take on ad hoc responsibilities.
- Ability to continuously improve materials and make use of differentiated content from sector teams.
- Alignment with Nomura leadership behaviours, including insight-led problem solving, strategic decision-making, motivating others, capability building, and inclusion-focused working practices.
