About the Role

Located in New Plymouth, Taranaki, Tranzit Group, a century-old leader in New Zealand’s transport industry, is seeking a qualified Diesel Mechanic to join their Taranaki workshop team. This position offers the chance to work on a wide-ranging fleet comprising both conventional diesel vehicles and the latest electric vehicle technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Performing scheduled servicing and minor repairs to ensure vehicles remain safely roadworthy.
Preparing vehicles for Certificate of Fitness (COF) inspections.
Identifying and fixing mechanical faults efficiently.
Maintaining high standards of safety and quality in all mechanical work.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum of five years of experience as a qualified Diesel Mechanic, preferably with background in road transport.
Strong capabilities in diagnostic techniques and mechanical repairs.
Dependable team player with excellent communication skills.
Possession of a full New Zealand driver's license, ideally Class 2 or higher.
