Bioprocessing Working Student

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Innovation & Development team in executing both upstream and downstream bioprocessing operations.
• Handle lab-scale equipment including bioreactors with volumes up to 1 liter, shake flask cultures, and microtiter plates.
• Learn and carry out analyses using colorimetric, high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and enzymatic assays.
• Analyze, visualize, and report experimental data to support project development.
• Engage in general laboratory management tasks such as cleaning, ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and drafting standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Adhere to existing SOPs and proactively recommend process and workflow enhancements.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Enrolled in a Master's program related to Bioprocess Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, or comparable disciplines.
• Laboratory experience is advantageous but not a strict requirement.
• Strong analytical thinking paired with creativity in problem-solving.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative teamwork approach.
• Effective time management and organizational capabilities.
• Demonstrates ownership and responsibility in assigned tasks.
• A deep passion for sustainability and a drive to enhance food systems.
• Proficiency in English is mandatory; skills in German are considered a plus.
