AS400 Application Specialist

Role Overview

This position involves comprehensive technical ownership of AS400-based applications supporting banking operations across various countries. The responsibilities encompass core banking, lending, deposits, payments, and regulatory systems ensuring operational stability and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full technical accountability for AS400 applications including country-specific core banking, lending, deposits, payments, and regulatory systems.
• Maintain application stability and optimize performance for systems developed using RPG/RPGLE, COBOL, CL, and DB2/400 that support critical banking functions.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders and align solutions with regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Work within onshore and offshore delivery models tailored for BFSI sector clients.

Required Expertise

• Extensive knowledge of global core banking or retail/corporate banking software environments.
• Familiarity with multi-country banking applications, regulatory reporting frameworks, and environments with intensive audit processes.
• Robust hands-on experience with the IBM i / AS400 platform.
• Proficiency in RPG/RPGLE, COBOL, CL programming languages and DB2/400 database.
• Clear understanding of batch jobs, online program handling, file management, and integration interfaces.
