Role overview
This position focuses on checking websites, page layouts, and website widgets created on iX’s Engine 5 / Smart Manager platform for the Websites team within the Pages Team.
Key responsibilities
- Work closely with colleagues to make sure internal website standards are consistently followed.
- Coordinate with the team so time and effort are used efficiently.
- Stick to planned project schedules and help ensure delivery deadlines are achieved.
- Support front-end troubleshooting by applying knowledge of HTML and CSS rendering and coding problems.
- Carry out testing across the agreed browser and device set, including Chrome, Safari, Edge, Android, and iOS, at desktop, tablet, and mobile breakpoints to improve test coverage.
- Record defects with clear steps to reproduce, screenshots, and browser/device details, then retest fixes to confirm the issue has been resolved.
- Check that website content matches the approved mockup or brief, including phone numbers, dealer information, links, and forms.
- Stay up to date with industry developments, new products, and interactive technologies.
Essential activities
- Quality assurance before launch against the approved mockup or brief.
- Regression checks after development fixes.
- Testing across browser and device combinations.
- Spot checks after the site goes live.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / school-leaving certificate.
- Strong understanding of HTML5 and CSS.
- Prior experience in testing is required.
- Willingness to learn proprietary CMS platforms such as Engine 5 and Smart Manager.
- A relevant QA or software testing certification is beneficial.
- Very good written and spoken English.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and partner with others.
