Warehouse Assistant - Fresh Produce Operations

Job Overview

We are seeking a Warehouse Assistant specialized in fresh produce operations to join our team. The role involves handling various warehouse functions including receiving, sorting, packing, and inventory management in a controlled environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Carry out daily warehouse tasks such as inbound activities including receiving, sorting, and put-away, outbound activities including picking, packing, and releasing orders, along with general material handling and housekeeping duties.
• Receive deliveries of fresh produce at the designated inbound dock.
• Perform expiry date checks each morning prior to the start of order picking operations.
• Verify the quality, quantity, and expiry dates of items during both receiving and dispatch processes.
• Pick customer orders accurately as per provided pick lists.
• Store items in allocated locations as identified by the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Pack items following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Assist with ad hoc assignments depending on warehouse needs.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum education level of Secondary School or a Nitec Diploma in Supply Chain Management or related fields.
• At least three months of prior experience in warehouse operations, fresh produce handling, or supply chain management is preferred.
• Comfortable operating within warehouse environments including cold and frozen zones.
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 15 kilograms.
• Flexibility to work on shifts and a five-day workweek inclusive of weekends.
• Basic understanding of logistics and the e-commerce industry.
• Possession of a valid WSQ Certified Forklift License is advantageous.
• Holding a valid WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1 certification is an added benefit.
• Experience operating reach trucks and holding forklift licenses will be considered a plus.
