UX / UI Designer

About the Role

OrbitRemit, a reputable global money transfer platform, is seeking a UX/UI Designer to lead the design of experiences for millions who send money internationally. This critical role covers end-to-end product and app design, establishing design standards that influence web presence, branding, and communications. The position reports to the Head of Product and collaborates closely with the CMO, as well as engineering and marketing teams.

Design leadership spans the entire customer journey including transfer apps, sign-up and KYC flows, and upcoming products. The designer will maintain the design system and guide the creative direction for various surfaces, while the marketing team manages daily production tasks. The company embraces an AI-first workflow, leveraging tools like Figma, AI-generated variants, and rapid prototyping to deliver high-quality outputs quickly.

Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive design for customer app and web products, addressing flows such as money transfer, account management, and new offerings.
• Convert customer research and product strategies into intuitive, seamless experiences that enhance conversion and retention.
• Collaborate with engineers to deliver pixel-perfect, accessible designs across iOS, Android, and web platforms.
• Develop and evolve the design system to maintain consistency as product scope expands.
• Direct design strategy for marketing websites including orbitremit.com, campaign pages, and landing pages alongside the marketing team.
• Oversee creative direction and design reviews for growth experiments, A/B testing, and paid advertising initiatives, contributing hands-on when impactful.
• Uphold visual consistency and brand identity across product, web, and communications channels by owning and refining the design system.
• Lead design contributions to major brand moments and campaign concepts requiring senior design input.
• Participate collaboratively in customer research activities and usability testing to ground design choices in real-world insights.
• Utilize AI-driven design tools such as Figma AI, Claude, Midjourney for innovative ideation and efficient iteration.
• Proactively propose design solutions and new directions rather than simply responding to briefs.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years’ experience in UX and design, encompassing web, app, marketing, and brand design. Portfolio breadth and skill level take precedence over exact years.
• Strong understanding of common UX patterns across multiple platforms and an eye for usability over novelty.
• Demonstrable portfolio reflecting product deliveries, marketing web designs, and campaign branding that reveal design thinking processes.
• Proficiency with Figma including components, variants, auto-layout, and design systems.
• Experience with AI-assisted design workflows and tools, accompanied by curiosity and experimentation.
• Excellent visual design skills, focusing on typography, hierarchy, and interaction details.
• Collaboration experience with product managers and engineers to ensure designs ship effectively.
• Ability to balance strategic visioning with hands-on creative execution on a routine basis.
• (Desirable) Experience in FinTech, e-commerce, or regulated B2C sectors.
• (Desirable) Knowledge of accessibility standards such as WCAG and multi-language design considerations.
• (Desirable) Skills in motion design, prototyping, or basic front-end development technologies like HTML/CSS, Framer, or Webflow.
• (Desirable) Prior involvement in building or contributing to design systems.
• (Desirable) Interest in cross-border payments, migrant communities, or emerging market financial technology.
