About the Role
We are hiring a meticulous and seasoned US Bookkeeper to work from our Margao, Goa office. This position is ideal for someone who has practical experience handling bookkeeping for US clients and is comfortable working with QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop.
The role calls for solid accounting basics, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage work independently while supporting accounting operations aligned with US business hours.
Work Location and Shift
Location: Margao, Goa, India
Work mode: Onsite
Shift timing: US shift, from 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM IST
Key Responsibilities
- Keep financial books accurate and current for US-based clients.
- Enter daily transactions, pass journal entries, and maintain general ledger records.
- Handle payables and receivables workflows.
- Carry out reconciliations for bank, credit card, and other accounts.
- Support month-end and year-end closing tasks.
- Draft financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss reports, and related schedules.
- Identify and clear accounting mismatches and reconciliation differences.
- Organize financial files and maintain backup documentation.
- Liaise with clients, accountants, and CPA firms on accounting-related matters.
- Follow established accounting controls and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a similar discipline.
- At least 3 years of bookkeeping experience.
- Practical use of QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop.
- Strong grasp of bookkeeping fundamentals and accounting workflows.
- Experience working with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, general ledger, journal entries, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
- Good analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Ability to work on your own in a fast-moving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior exposure to US clients, CPA firms, or accounting firms.
- Understanding of US accounting norms and reporting practices.
- Experience with payroll, sales tax, and month-end close processes.
- Knowledge of tools such as Xero, NetSuite, or Sage will be an advantage.
Additional Information
This is a full-time position requiring onsite presence in Margao, Goa. The selected candidate will support US accounting operations during night-shift hours.
