Position Summary

The role of the Unarmed Security Guard involves delivering reliable security services at client locations during designated shifts. Assignments and working hours may vary to align with client demands, staffing adjustments, and operational requirements. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary, even though efforts will be made to honor preferred availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Safeguard personnel, property, and assets at the assigned client premises.
• Be prepared to work diverse shifts and rotate between client sites as needed, adapting to changing schedules and operational demands.
• Maintain professional conduct when interacting with clients, visitors, and colleagues to ensure a secure and respectful environment.
• Perform timely patrols of the site and monitor surveillance systems in accordance with client security standards.
• Record and report incidents, breaches, or unusual activities accurately to appropriate supervisors for proper handling.
• Complete any other duties assigned by SSPG management.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent credential is mandatory.
• Possession of an active PERC credential.
• Previous experience in unarmed security or a related security role is preferred.
• Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional situational awareness with keen attention to detail.
• Proficient in de-escalation techniques and emergency response.
• Physically able to stand, walk, and patrol for extended durations.

Schedule Expectations

• Employees must adhere to assigned shifts and locations, which can change based on client or company needs.
• Flexibility to provide on-call or emergency coverage as required.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly pay rate of $18.00 with weekly payments on Fridays.
• For Chicago-based employees, compliance with Chicago Paid and Sick Leave Ordinance.
• Part-time employees accrue 1 hour of paid time off for every 40 hours worked in line with ILPLAWA standards.
• Referral incentive program.
