Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and precise processing of all payments including vendors, payroll, and refunds.
- Manage tuition fee collections, reconcile accounts, and handle bank deposits adhering to internal policies.
- Perform bank account reconciliations and address any discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain petty cash and accounts for schools and colleges.
- Support the Finance Controller in treasury-related initiatives such as banking system upgrades and fee automation projects.
- Develop short-term cash flow forecasts monthly and quarterly.
- Assist in preparing the annual cash budget and liquidity planning.
- Plan for major cash expenditures including construction, IT enhancements, and bulk procurement.
- Carry out daily bank transactions and fund transfers efficiently.
- Monitor student fee collections and coordinate with the finance team to follow up on overdue payments.
- Manage bank mandates, including account openings and closures.
- Ensure all treasury transactions are supported with proper documentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Expertise in cash flow forecasting and liquidity management.
- Strong capabilities in bank reconciliation and managing payment runs.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP treasury modules such as Odoo, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Familiarity with collection systems including fee portals and direct debit mechanisms.
- Understanding of internal controls and treasury policies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with academic and administrative personnel.
- Ability to perform reliably under month-end and peak collection periods like registration seasons.
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
- Professional certification such as CMA or partial qualifications in ACCA/CPA are advantageous.
- Three to four years of experience, preferably within higher education, schools, or educational service sectors; experience in nonprofit or service industries is also relevant.
