About the Role

The Transportation Technician plays a vital role in facilitating the movement of patients, equipment, and supplies within the hospital environment. This includes transporting patients between nursing units, outpatient clinics, and other departments, as well as delivering specimens and materials promptly to designated locations such as the main laboratory. The position also involves responding to urgent transportation needs for neonatal patients and emerging situations like Codes and Traumas throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently transport patients across various hospital units and outpatient settings, including special assistance for neonatal patient transfers from parking to nursing areas.
  • Collect and dispatch specimens, medical materials, and other items between units, clinics, and the laboratory.
  • Quickly respond to emergency Codes and Traumas by delivering required specimens and accessing hospital order systems to input diagnostic requests under physician and nursing guidance.
  • Assist with ad hoc delivery tasks as requested on demand.

Required Qualifications and Skills
