Translator

Position Overview

This role is based at SOHO, London. The primary function is to carry out translation tasks, mainly translating Japanese content to English. Compensation for each assignment is determined beforehand through a written agreement.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidates are freelancers, with a strong emphasis on translation accuracy over readability. Native Japanese speakers are highly encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will receive comprehensive instructions and training as needed.

Main Duties

• Translating documents predominantly from Japanese into English.
• Rewriting and proofreading tasks, restricted to native English speakers.
• Conducting research using internet and print resources.
• Reading and summarizing both general and specialized texts.
• Developing and maintaining glossaries.
