Role overview
This role focuses on creating, rolling out, and reviewing learning and development initiatives that strengthen employee capability, improve performance, and support long-term career progression while aligning with the organization’s strategic priorities.
Key responsibilities
- Assess development needs by reviewing performance information, identifying competency gaps, and discussing requirements with stakeholders.
- Make sure training plans support business goals and workforce planning.
- Prepare yearly learning plans and development roadmaps.
- Build interactive training solutions across classroom, virtual, e-learning, and blended formats.
- Run workshops, onboarding sessions, and broader capability-building programs.
- Work with internal subject matter experts and outside training vendors.
- Ensure learning materials are practical, relevant, and usable in day-to-day work.
- Contribute to leadership development and broader talent-building efforts.
- Evaluate training outcomes through participant feedback, assessments, and performance measures.
- Monitor attendance, completion, and the effect of learning on performance.
- Refine programs continuously using data and user feedback.
- Collaborate with HR, managers, and senior leaders on employee development priorities.
- Advise managers on coaching methods and learning through on-the-job practice.
- Support succession planning and career growth initiatives.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or a closely related discipline.
- A certification in training and development, such as CPTD or a similar credential, is considered an advantage.
- Previous experience working as a training officer, trainer, or in a comparable learning and development position.
- Ability to create training content that is engaging and effective.
- Two to four years of relevant experience in training, learning and development, or HR.
- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing training and competency frameworks.
- Working knowledge of training needs analysis.
- Strong analytical ability to review learning metrics and training return on investment.
- Good presentation and facilitation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
