About the opportunity
This role sits within a fast-moving logistics and freight forwarding business in the UAE that manages import and export movements end to end, including customs coordination and international cargo handling. The team works with speed, accuracy, and a strong client-service mindset to keep shipments moving smoothly for both SME and multinational customers. The company is expanding its operations function and is looking for an organized, service-oriented Ticketing Agent to handle air and sea freight bookings.
Key responsibilities
- Review, process, and confirm air and ocean freight booking requests while making sure documents are accurate and aligned with carrier and customs rules.
- Create and oversee e-tickets, manifests, and shipping instructions for freight moving within the UAE and across international routes.
- Work closely with airlines, shipping lines, customs brokers, and internal logistics teams to secure space, pricing, and delivery timelines.
- Keep the Transportation Management System updated in real time and handle customer questions about shipment progress.
- Fix booking mismatches, rearrange cargo schedules when needed, and brief supervisors on issues with clear next-step reports.
- Ensure all ticketing and booking records follow IATA, ICAO, and applicable UAE port authority requirements.
Skills and qualifications
- IATA certification is required, or the candidate should currently be working toward it.
- Hands-on experience using freight booking platforms or TMS tools such as CargoWise, Magenta, or similar systems.
- Strong Microsoft Excel ability, including lookup functions, pivot tables, and accurate data entry.
- Good working knowledge of air and sea freight paperwork, such as AWB, BL, CN22, and related documents.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Ability to understand ICAO and IATA codes, along with global port and route mapping.
- Preferred: basic Arabic communication skills for regional coordination.
- Preferred: exposure to UAE Port Authority processes or customs documentation systems.
- Preferred: familiarity with Incoterms 2020 and freight forwarding operations.
