Role Overview

As a Talent Acquisition Advisor at Thiess, you will be integral in recruiting skilled blue-collar professionals for the company’s operations and maintenance teams. You will collaborate directly with site leadership and operational teams to craft effective recruitment strategies supporting project timelines while emphasizing safety and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the complete recruitment cycle for maintenance and operations roles such as fitters, operators, boilermakers, electricians, and supervisors.
• Develop and sustain strong working relationships with site managers, superintendents, and HR personnel to grasp workforce demands and design customized hiring approaches.
• Implement proactive sourcing techniques, including leveraging job boards, social media, referrals, and local networks to attract qualified trades and operational personnel.
• Ensure candidates enjoy a professional, responsive recruitment experience with consistent communication and timely feedback.
• Partner with operational teams for workforce planning to anticipate labor requirements and align recruitment activities with project demands.
• Advocate for and uphold inclusive hiring practices, actively engaging talent from marginalized communities.

Qualifications and Skills

• Established experience recruiting for trades and operational positions, preferably within mining, construction, or heavy industries.
• Strong capability to engage and collaborate with site-based leadership and stakeholders.
• Adept at managing multiple job openings and deadlines efficiently in a dynamic, high-volume setting.
• Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment data reporting.
• Deep commitment to supporting frontline teams and fostering an excellent candidate journey.
• Dedication to promoting diversity and cultivating inclusive talent pools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background recruiting for mobile maintenance, drill and blast, or operations teams is advantageous.
