What you will do
You will support residents in a person-centred way, helping them live meaningful and as independent a life as possible. The role involves encouraging self-care, community involvement, goal setting, and the development of everyday life skills while maintaining respect, autonomy, and informed choice.
Key duties
- Deliver tailored support based on each individual’s needs
- Promote independence, self-care, and participation in the wider community
- Work with residents to identify, review, and achieve personal goals
- Assist with day-to-day living while protecting dignity and choice
- Support confidence-building and practical skill development
- Keep accurate records and contribute to support plans
- Use reflective practice to strengthen the quality of care provided
- Take part in training, supervision, and team-based activities

Requirements
- Minimum FETAC Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support, Social Care, or an equivalent qualification
- Good communication skills in English, along with IT, report writing, and planning ability
- A full, clean driving licence is required
- Ability to pass Garda Vetting
- Two professional references must be available
- Legal permission to work in Ireland; sponsorship is not available
- Strong commitment to safeguarding and best practice
- Ability to work well in a changing and dynamic setting
Accepted qualifications
- QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support
- Pre-Nursing Studies
- Professional Qualification in Teaching, excluding TEFL
- Family Support Practitioner qualification at minimum Level 6 NFQ
- Another nationally recognised qualification in social care, childcare, family support, or education
