About the Role
Ryder is seeking a Supply Chain Operations Associate for a third shift (overnight) position based in Arlington, TX, supporting the Supply Chain Solutions division. The role focuses on managing operational activities related to the General Motors LLP Account, with responsibilities including material availability and inventory control.
Schedule and Compensation
- The position is salaried non-exempt, paid twice monthly.
- Annual salary ranges from $50,000 to $52,500.
- Shift schedule is the 3rd shift: Sunday (9:00 PM to 6:30 AM), Monday through Friday (10:00 PM to 6:30 AM), with usually one weekday off.
- Employees must be flexible to work six-day weeks when necessary including occasional Sundays; when Sunday is worked, a weekday off is generally granted.
- There are frequent opportunities for overtime with time and a half pay, even in five-day workweeks.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure follow-up on all purchased parts to guarantee shipment and on-time delivery to meet production needs.
- Act as the primary contact for suppliers, providing guidance on ship schedules and containment plans if delays occur.
- Monitor critical parts, develop and execute containment plans to prevent manufacturing downtime, including decision-making on delivery mode and timing.
- Coordinate alternative material sources and spot buys across various GM plants as required.
- Manage truck load scheduling for material pickup, adjusting to schedule changes to ensure material coverage at minimal cost.
- Review and adjust part buffers for build requirements and manage exceptions in documentation and alarm interval maintenance.
- Maintain accurate inventory data in MGO, investigating and making necessary adjustments based on analysis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- One or more years of administrative experience and relevant supply chain experience preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of MGO (GM's MRP system), transportation management, and manufacturing material flow preferred.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships across organizational levels.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams.
- Highly organized with excellent multitasking and time management abilities.
- Flexibility to work the specified schedule and willingness to excel in a fast-paced environment.
