Role overview
This full-time exempt position is based in Huntsville, Alabama. The Supply Chain Manager will own the company’s U.S. supply chain activities, with responsibility across procurement, inventory, logistics, production planning, and supplier management. The role is centered on improving efficiency, supporting growth, and helping ensure a reliable customer experience.
Compensation
The expected annual pay for this role is between $125,200 and $169,400. Final compensation may differ based on the chosen candidate’s background, experience, location, and internal pay alignment.
Key responsibilities
- Create and roll out supply chain strategies, procedures, and policies that strengthen performance, lower costs, and improve efficiency.
- Manage the full supply chain lifecycle, including purchasing, materials handling, production planning, stock control, logistics, and supplier coordination.
- Direct sourcing and procurement work, including supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and building long-term partnerships.
- Maintain productive relationships with critical suppliers so materials and components arrive on time and meet quality expectations.
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, sales, finance, and other teams to keep supply chain activity aligned with business goals.
- Define and track KPIs such as supplier performance, on-time delivery, inventory turnover, and cost efficiency.
- Set up demand planning, inventory control, and production planning processes that meet customer needs while reducing lead times and keeping inventory balanced.
- Introduce process improvements, automation, and digital tools to improve visibility, speed, and flexibility across the supply chain.
- Make sure all supply chain practices comply with regulations, industry standards, and internal best practices.
- Track market movements, new technologies, and industry disruptions to spot risks and opportunities early.
- Identify supply chain risks, prepare contingency plans, and support business continuity efforts.
- Partner with finance to build and manage the supply chain budget, control spending, and support cost-saving efforts.
- Advance sustainability and social responsibility in sourcing and operations, including ethical procurement and environmental responsibility.
- Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing supply chain team with a strong culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Build and sustain strong working relationships with executive leadership and internal stakeholders across operations, sales, engineering, and finance.
- Keep current on supply chain trends, emerging tools, and industry best practices.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Advanced education or certifications such as APICS or CSCP are preferred.
- Background as a Supply Chain Manager or comparable leadership role in aerospace or aviation, ideally with exposure to UAS/UAV products.
- Strong command of supply chain concepts, tools, and operating practices.
- Deep familiarity with procurement, materials management, production planning, logistics, and inventory control.
- Proven ability to design and execute supply chain plans that support business objectives.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management capabilities, including experience handling complex vendor relationships and reducing costs.
- Experience driving digital transformation in supply chain operations, including analytics, automation, and ERP systems.
- Ability to use supply chain data and analytics to guide decisions and improve processes.
- Knowledge of international trade rules, customs processes, and logistics for domestic and cross-border operations.
- Effective leadership skills with the ability to guide and develop a strong team.
- Clear communication and interpersonal skills for working with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, organization, and project management skills.
- Comfort with managing several priorities at once and meeting tight deadlines.
- Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma exposure is a plus.
- Willingness to keep learning and expanding expertise in the function and the wider industry.
Preferred qualifications
- Working knowledge of FAR and DFARS, including flowdown requirements, with a track record of placing compliant procurements across different levels of complexity and value.

Clearance and compliance
This role may require access to information controlled under ITAR and/or EAR. To meet those requirements, applicants may need to provide documentation confirming U.S. person status under the relevant regulations.
Work environment and physical demands
The job may be performed in a typical office environment with some time spent in a production setting. The role involves using standard office equipment and requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods while staying attentive despite interruptions. Occasional walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending may be needed. Good vision is necessary for reading printed materials and computer screens, and hearing plus spoken communication skills are important for in-person and telephone interactions. Travel by air or car may be required. Personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats may be necessary in production areas. The position may require lifting up to 30 pounds.
