Supply Chain Manager

Job Overview

The Supply Chain Manager role is crucial for overseeing and enhancing all supply chain functions within Saudi Arabia, including logistics, warehousing, distribution, purchasing, quality assurance, inventory control, demand and supply planning, and customs management. This position guarantees efficient and cost-effective delivery of products while upholding quality standards and regulatory compliance. The role also entails close collaboration with regional counterparts in Kuwait to ensure seamless supply chain operations across borders and smooth customs processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and execute supply chain strategies that support the company’s business goals and improve operational efficiency.
• Set up measurable KPIs to track and optimize supply chain performance.
• Coordinate with the regional team in Kuwait to align supply chain strategies and policies effectively.
• Manage logistics operations, including freight inbound and outbound, ensuring deliveries are timely and cost-effective.
• Collaborate with the Group Logistics Freight Director to optimize transportation routing and negotiate carrier contracts.
• Ensure that logistics complies with all applicable safety and regulatory standards.
• Supervise warehouse operations to maximize space usage, maintain inventory accuracy, and enforce safety guidelines.
• Work with the Warehouse Director in Kuwait to standardize warehouse procedures throughout the region.
• Oversee distribution to guarantee prompt delivery of goods to customers within KSA.
• Develop procurement strategies facilitating timely and cost-efficient sourcing of materials and goods.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to assure quality and value in purchasing.
• Negotiate contracts and foster partnerships with key suppliers to gain advantageous terms.
• Maintain full visibility of the procurement cycle using real-time data to avoid duplication or missed orders.
• Implement quality assurance processes ensuring product safety and integrity through sourcing, warehousing, and distribution activities.
• Coordinate with QA teams on audits and inspections of suppliers and internal operations.
• Monitor inventory levels to balance stock availability with minimization of excess and obsolete items.
• Deploy inventory management systems to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate on demand forecasting and inventory planning with the Market Planning Head in Kuwait.
• Lead and mentor supply chain coordinators, promoting effective communication and task execution.
• Encourage teamwork across logistics, warehousing, procurement, QA, and inventory control departments.
• Work closely with regional teams to synchronize supply chain objectives.
• Manage the supply chain budget and track expenditures, implementing cost-saving measures as appropriate.
• Prepare and share financial reports with senior management, offering recommendations.
• Provide leadership, performance management, and development for the supply chain team, fostering continuous improvement.
• Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, health, safety, and internal policy requirements.
• Identify potential risks related to supply chain operations and develop strategies to mitigate them.

Educational Background and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree specializing in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, ideally in Food Service or FMCG sectors.
• Demonstrated leadership in overseeing logistics, warehousing, procurement, quality assurance, inventory control, and coordination teams.
• Proven ability to work with regional teams and manage supply chains spanning multiple locations.
