Supply Chain Manager

Position Overview

Hanwha Defense USA is looking for a highly methodical and detail-focused Supply Chain Manager to oversee integrated supply chain functions encompassing procurement, logistics, production planning, and supplier oversight. This intermediate-level role will be pivotal in ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective material handling aligned with Program, Engineering, and Production needs within a defense manufacturing and development setting.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage the entire supply chain cycle including purchasing, supplier interaction, production scheduling, inventory management, and logistics coordination.
• Direct sourcing strategies, competitive bids, and supplier assessments following Department of War contracting standards and organizational policies.
• Ensure full adherence to regulatory requirements such as ITAR, EAR, DFARS, and FAR.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Program Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance to align supply chain processes.
• Monitor supplier metrics, oversee risk management, and execute corrective measures as necessary.
• Prepare and sustain precise material demand forecasts, production timetables, and supply plans supporting program milestones.
• Assist with governmental audits, internal compliance checks, and maintain thorough material management documentation.
• Optimize inventory quantities, logistical routing, and procurement workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Utilize ERP/MRP platforms (preferably SAP) to manage materials requirements, procurement activities, scheduling, and reporting.
• Generate formal reports, performance metrics, and analyses to aid leadership in informed decision-making.
• Maintain correct labeling and timely filing of contracts along with compliance to corporate supply chain policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Between 5 and 8 years of relevant experience in supply chain operations, procurement, logistics, or production planning, ideally within defense, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
• Direct experience supporting Department of Defense programs or government contracting in controlled defense manufacturing environments.
• Comprehensive knowledge of ITAR, EAR, FAR/DFARS, and related regulatory frameworks.
• Proficiency with SAP and other ERP/MRP systems.
• Ability to interpret technical data packages, engineering drawings, and specifications accurately.
• Strong analytical thinking, organizational capability, and excellent communication skills.
• Eligibility and capability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Additional Requirements

• Authorization to work legally in the United States is required.
• Must be available to work on-site at the Huntsville, Alabama facility.
• Must satisfy clearance criteria for access to export-controlled information.
