Supervisor - Distribution Center

Job Overview

This role entails overseeing daily warehouse operations to ensure efficient handling of receiving, storage, picking, and dispatch activities. The supervisor is responsible for streamlining processes, guiding the warehouse team, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all inbound and outbound warehouse activities including receipt of goods, put-away procedures, order picking, packing, and shipping.
• Ensure products are stored and handled according to standard operating procedures and safety regulations.
• Facilitate timely completion of warehouse tasks, aiming to meet established productivity and accuracy metrics.
• Assign daily responsibilities to warehouse staff and monitor their performance during shifts.
• Report any absenteeism, delays, or inefficiencies promptly to higher management.
• Encourage adherence to workplace discipline, hygiene, and safety standards.
• Track inventory through bin location monitoring, stock movement records, and support cycle counting exercises.
• Identify and report stock discrepancies, damages, and inventory errors for corrective action.
• Ensure all physical inventory transactions are properly recorded and updated in systems.
• Compile shift reports detailing goods movement, inventory levels, and staffing deployments.
• Collaborate effectively with transportation, brand representatives, and logistics teams to address any delays in delivery or processing.

Qualifications & Experience

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline is required; additional certification or diploma in Supply Chain Management is advantageous.
• 1 to 3 years of professional experience in warehouse or distribution center operations, ideally within the retail sector.
• Demonstrated ability in managing inbound operations, overseeing teams, and coordinating inventory activities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for coordination with various organizational teams.
• High attention to detail coupled with commitment to safety, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
