Structural Design Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a Structural Design Engineer to plan, analyze, and design structural systems for various construction projects including residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure developments based in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Key Responsibilities

• Design structural frameworks including calculation and analysis for buildings, foundations, beams, columns, slabs, and retaining walls.
• Create structural drawings, specifications, and comprehensive design reports ensuring compliance with safety standards and client needs.
• Collaborate closely with architects, MEP engineers, project managers, and contractors by reviewing architectural plans and offering structural solutions.
• Engage in project meetings to assist in scheduling and budgeting efforts.
• Conduct site inspections to verify construction concordance with approved designs, monitor reinforcement, concreting, and steel installation processes.
• Identify and resolve construction-phase structural challenges ensuring adherence to safety and quality norms.
• Maintain technical documentation including design calculations, BOQs, project reports, and review contractors’ submissions such as shop drawings and material approvals.
• Ensure compliance with Indian Standards (IS Codes), National Building Code (NBC), and local regulations by conducting audits and assessing structural integrity.
• Evaluate structural risks, propose mitigation strategies, and lead investigations into defects, providing corrective technical support including for renovation and strengthening projects.
• Manage client and stakeholder communications by presenting engineering concepts, progress updates, and addressing technical inquiries.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proficient in structural analysis and design software including AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAFE, Revit Structure, SAP2000.
• Strong command of MS Office tools for documentation and reporting.
• Experience with project coordination and technical report writing.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities applying knowledge of IS Codes and local building regulations.
• Educational background: Civil Engineering qualifications at M.Tech level preferred, with a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering considered an advantage.
• Professional certifications in structural engineering and familiarity with ETAP software are beneficial.
