Role Purpose
This position supports the creation, execution, and continual refinement of strength and conditioning programs within the sport initiatives at the University of Leeds. The individual in this role ensures athletes receive superior training and assistance grounded in evidence-based practices to maximize athletic performance, reduce injury risks, and encourage sustainable development over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement strength and conditioning plans for university athletes.
- Facilitate collaboration with coaches, physiotherapists, academic personnel, and external stakeholders to enhance athlete support.
- Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness and modify plans to improve outcomes.
- Contribute to the advancement and quality assurance of the university's high-performance sport offerings.
Requirements
- Knowledge of strength and conditioning principles and their application in sports performance.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams including coaches and medical staff.
- Commitment to athlete welfare and evidence-based practice.
