Role Overview
The Startup Program & Experience Lead is responsible for overseeing the startup customer onboarding and trial experience to ensure successful adoption, engagement, and early value realization of Notion. Reporting to the Head of Startups, this role focuses on program management, customer lifecycle engagement, and operational execution to enhance activation, conversion, retention, and overall growth in the regional startup segment.
The role involves partnering extensively across Marketing, Product, Customer Success, and Partnerships teams to develop scalable startup programs, onboarding workflows, and engagement activities that foster long-term customer success.
Key Responsibilities
- Boost activation, engagement, conversion, and retention rates within the regional startup funnel.
- Design and operate scalable onboarding and lifecycle programs tailored for startup customers.
- Develop educational content and engagement experiences specific to startups that accelerate value realization.
- Detect and resolve friction points to enhance the startup customer journey.
- Assist in the delivery of startup-focused campaigns, events, and ecosystem initiatives across the region.
- Analyze program performance, customer engagement metrics, and operational data to drive improvements in conversion rates and annual recurring revenue (ARR).
- Contribute to building Startups 2.0 frameworks, including automated scorecards for identifying leading startups to prioritize high-touch support.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in program management, customer experience, customer success, growth strategies, operations, or startup-related roles.
- Excellent organizational and project management capabilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Strong empathy for customers paired with an operationally focused mindset.
- Comfortable collaborating across diverse teams such as Product, Marketing, Partnerships, and Customer Success.
- Data-driven approach with the aptitude to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement areas.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Curious about AI and willing to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity; deep AI expertise not mandatory.
Preferred Skills
- Background working with startups or within startup ecosystems.
- Experience managing onboarding, lifecycle, or customer engagement programs.
- Familiarity with product-led growth models.
- Track record of establishing scalable operational processes or programs.
- Passion for AI, productivity tools, and evolving work paradigms.

Compensation and Work Schedule
The company offers competitive compensation combining cash, equity, and benefits. For San Francisco-based roles, the estimated base salary ranges from $140,000 to $205,000 annually. This position requires on-site presence in the San Francisco office on designated anchor days with potential additional in-person days based on team requirements.
