Software Tester (Manual)

About the Role

We are seeking a meticulous Manual Software Tester with 1 to 3 years of experience to uphold the quality and dependability of our web and mobile applications. The candidate should possess strong manual testing skills and foundational knowledge of automated testing techniques and tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute diverse test cases, scenarios, and plans aligned with business needs.
• Conduct multiple testing types including Functional, Regression, Integration, Smoke, and Sanity tests.
• Ensure applications perform correctly across various browsers and devices.
• Track, document, and verify software bugs utilizing Jira or comparable defect tracking software.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and business stakeholders to promptly resolve defects.
• Perform database verifications with SQL queries as necessary.
• Validate APIs using tools like Postman.
• Support automation testing efforts by executing and maintaining test scripts.
• Engage actively in Agile or Scrum processes to promote continuous quality enhancements.

Skills and Experience Required

• 1 to 3 years of practical experience in manual software testing.
• Clear understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), and Defect Life Cycle.
• Capability to create and execute test cases and maintain test documentation efficiently.
• Experience handling defect management tools such as Jira.
• Basic competency in SQL for database validation tasks.
• Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Competencies

• Basic familiarity with automation testing frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent.
• General understanding of automation principles and scripting.
• Exposure to version control systems like Git is advantageous.
• Experience working within Agile development methodologies.

Educational Qualification

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.

Additional Information

Location: Kolkata office (work from office).

Annual Salary: 3,00,000 INR.
