Trusted by leading brands like Randstad, Motorola Solutions, Netflix, and growing organizations, Dialpad is supported by prominent investors including Andreessen Horowitz and T-Mobile.
Role Overview
We are seeking ML Inference Platform Engineers to develop critical infrastructure that bridges AI model training outputs with deployable and scalable production systems. This role focuses on engineering robust, practical tools that facilitate packaging, versioning, deploying, evaluating, promoting, and safely rolling back in-house AI models on a small, impactful team.
This position involves delivering systems to improve AI service deployment, runtime monitoring, evaluation mechanisms, and operational quality, helping accelerate our AI platform's ability to transition capabilities from experimentation to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Refining processes for packaging, versioning, promoting, and rolling back AI capability artifacts.
- Designing and enhancing deployment and release workflows for AI-backed services.
- Supporting advanced deployment strategies including shadow-serving, staged rollouts, and candidate-versus-incumbent evaluations.
- Improving runtime observability, debugging, and operational stability of model-backed systems.
- Creating or automating evaluation systems that enable data-driven release decisions.
- Reducing custom coordination needs by strengthening shared infrastructure and standards used across AI teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Two to six years of professional experience developing and shipping production-grade software infrastructure or impactful systems.
- Proficiency in writing maintainable, robust production code with a strong foundation in software engineering and debugging complex issues.
- Experience thriving in ambiguous, evolving, and cross-functional project environments with real interface requirements.
- Expertise in building systems emphasizing reproducibility, operability, rollout safety, and high-quality change management.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with cloud services, container technologies, managed machine learning platforms, or service orchestration tools.
- Exposure to model serving, deployment mechanisms, experimentation tracking, artifact/version management, or ML lifecycle tools.
- Background in distributed systems, service platforms, search/relevance systems, internal tooling, or production AI platforms.
- Experience with automated testing, benchmarking, experimentation frameworks, or evaluation systems that inform software releases.
- Understanding of applied AI domains such as speech, conversational systems, or customer interaction workflows.
Compensation
For candidates based in Ontario, Canada, the targeted base salary for this role ranges between 111000 and 133500 CAD annually. The specific salary within this range depends on work location, individual qualifications, skill set, and education. This salary excludes bonuses, equity, and other benefits.
