Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and rigorously test software components and applications using the company's technology stacks.
• Analyze complex datasets and technical projects to recommend and implement effective solutions for technical challenges.
• Support operational business functions while enhancing engineering productivity and efficiency.
• Build and integrate reliable software components into comprehensive systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring product and system reliability.
• Develop scalable, manageable chatbots that fulfill conversational requirements by integrating large language model prompts with Uber's assistant platforms.
• Collaborate across engineering teams to design and deliver extensible, maintainable enhancements that elevate support experiences.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any discipline), Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or closely related field plus a minimum of two years relevant work experience.
• Proficiency with C++, Python, Java, and version control tools such as GIT or SVN.
• Solid experience with relational databases like SQL or MySQL.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and their application in software development.
• Experience designing technology stacks incorporating Generative AI (GenAI) solutions.
• Competence in debugging and monitoring production-level software services.
• Knowledge of distributed and large-scale systems engineering principles.
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and backend system development.

Additional Details

This role offers an annual salary range of $204,500 to $209,000 and eligibility for bonuses, equity, and comprehensive employee benefits.

Uber maintains a hybrid work culture, with most employees required to spend at least 50% of their time onsite unless fully remote work is approved. Certain locations require full-time on-site presence.
