About Cheeverstown House

Cheeverstown is a voluntary organization regulated by the Health Information & Quality Authority (HIQA), providing a variety of person-centered services such as Supported Living, respite care, and day services to nearly 400 adults with intellectual disabilities in the south Dublin region.

Role Purpose

We are seeking dedicated Social Care Workers to join our teams at community houses and day support facilities. We offer both permanent full-time and part-time positions. The primary objective of this role is to deliver high-quality care and support that meets the needs of the individuals we serve.

Key Responsibilities and Attributes

  • Provide exceptional person-centered care fostering empowerment and community inclusion.
  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with multidisciplinary teams (MDT), families, colleagues, and relevant agencies both verbally and in writing.
  • Exhibit strong organizational, leadership, interpersonal, and team-building skills with an ability to influence positively.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in working hours and locations to fulfill service needs.
    • Oversee and support staff supervision where applicable.
    • Use initiative to optimize service provision.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Holds a CORU-approved qualification at National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) Level 7 or above in Social Care or Applied Social Studies, or current registration with CORU as a Social Care Worker.
  • Alternatively, a qualification obtained outside Ireland recognized by NARIC as equivalent to Irish Level 7.
  • Proven experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities.
  • Familiarity with HIQA regulations and high standards of care.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing capabilities.
  • Valid full clean driving licence essential.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland.
