Overview

We are seeking a Site Manager for a prominent main contractor based in Galway, specializing in delivering commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments across the West of Ireland. This permanent role involves full oversight of daily operations on a major construction site, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to exemplary quality standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all site activities from initial groundworks to project completion.
  • Lead and coordinate efforts of subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labor teams on-site.
  • Manage project delivery in accordance with timelines, budgets, and specifications.
  • Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental protocols.
  • Monitor project progress and resolve delays or site-related challenges proactively.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Quantity Surveyors.
  • Perform daily inspections and conduct quality assurance checks.
  • Facilitate site meetings and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure all construction activities align with technical drawings and specifications.
  • Supervise snagging, commissioning, and project handover procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience as a Site Manager within a main contracting environment.
  • Proven success managing commercial, residential, or mixed-use construction projects.
  • In-depth understanding of construction techniques, sequencing, and site coordination.
  • Strong leadership qualities and effective team management skills.
  • Capability to oversee multiple subcontractors and balance competing priorities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Irish building regulations and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects within Ireland.
  • Background in trade or engineering is advantageous.
  • Possession of Safe Pass and Manual Handling certifications.
  • First Aid certification is desirable.
